Hallo Bloggosphere! I need your help! First, here is a video! And below that is an explanation of the video!
So as I’ve said in previous blog posts, I’ve been pretty busy lately. One of the reasons for the busy times is that I’ve been working on a new webseries with Errol for WeTangent. Read the rest of this entry
1. Think of a cool creative project. Get excited.
2. Get crushed by reality of the whole “no money” thing.
3. Find out about grant. Convince yourself that absolutely no one else will apply and that it’ll be a breeze to get the government to give you money. Read the rest of this entry
Things have been absolutely crazy lately and I haven’t had much chance to post here. I have a couple of blog posts in the works, BUT in the meantime, here is the latest video I did for one of my favourite games of 2013, the Stanley Parable:
And yes, that is Errol performing the part of the narrator. He ad libbed a couple of the lines. Can you guess which ones?
I loved the Stanley Parable. Like…REALLY loved it. I mean, I loved a lot of games that came out this year. But in a game year that had amazingly grim themes throughout many titles, Stanley Parable was simply content to make me laugh. And laugh I did.
Honest, I would put up a review of the game or some such thing but talking too much about it would give away so much goodness that’s best left as a surprise. Well…I guess the one thing I will say is that Stanley Parable is more an experience than a game. But it’s a HECK of an experience.
It’s clever and witty and makes us question our role as gamers. If you haven’t tried it out, I would HIGHLY recommend it…unless you don’t like that sort of thing. In which case…don’t? But you’ll be missing out :D.
It’s time for a new Whitless Letter! This time to Luigi!
I don’t know about you guys, but as a kid, I ALWAYS opted to play as Luigi. He was simply the better brother in my mind.
Special thanks to Tom White for stepping in and appearing in the vid. He reviews weird video games!
And my trusty Video Ninja really outdid himself this time around. You should check out his site, he is becoming an editing master!
In lieu of Dining and Dating Errol and I have been making fake ML Updates from Rick and Val, two characters in the NaNoMusical to celebrate NaNowrimo. Here is the latest one! I am feeling like Val is appearing right now.
Dear world: My friend Dan is doing a fundraiser called Extra Life. On November 2, he will be playing video games for a full 25 hours straight to help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network.
I have agreed to perform a Whitless Letter live (which you can vote for on my wetangent page) and Errol will be livestreaming a video game with Dan as well (where you can witness the frustration firsthand). He has already gotten his goal which is amazing, but if he gets to $1,200.00 I will be forced to play a horror game by myself for a full fifteen minutes. Errol might be there too.
I don’t want to do this. I really don’t want to do this. Me playing horror games is like trying to put a cat into a bath. But I also don’t want children to get sick. And so if you are so inclined, feel free to donate to the “Watch Manda lose her mind” fund. It’s for the kids. And your entertainment, but mostly for the kids.
New episode of Dating & Dining! Next week we’ll actually answer a question, so send them in!
Errol and I are trying out a new weekly video series called “Dining and Dating” in which we will give advice, useful or not, about dating and social interaction in general to geeks. It promises to be…something? Entertaining? Informative? Useless? We’ll find out soon I guess! Send in your questions!
