Manda’s Workout Diary: Week #2
So I’ve started working out in a vain attempt to slim down slightly and tone up a lot. Because I don’t have money for a gym and because it’s winter going outside means getting my face eaten off by evil winds I’m using Jillian Michaels’ Youtube videos to at the very least get into some sort of routine.
I posted on Facebook about how hard it was, but after thinking about it I realized I didn’t want to become “that person”. You know, that person who talks so much about their work-outs that they either bore or guilt their friends to death. And so I refrained from updating further.
I mean, I have a blog for that.
And so, in ANOTHER attempt to keep me working out somewhat consistently, I have decided to give updates! So! Here goes!
Current work-out: Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred.
Status: Still chubby, but arms are stronger!
Equipment Used: Yoga Mat, a can of tomates and a can of beans (hand weights cost money. Blurgh)
Muscles that I didn’t know were used important until I lost the use of them in burning agony: Butt muscles, that area between your armpits and chest
Good things that happened: I can do 5 regular push-ups before I have to go back to girly style!
Bad things that happened: My knees kind of hate me. And I can’t figure out how the heck to do bicycle sit-ups?
% that I want to kill Jillian Michaels: 75. This is down 5% from the 80 that I was at a few days ago, so if she keeps up the good job she gets to keep her life! Yay!
% that I want to kill Jillian Michaels’ assistants: 95. They just won’t stop smiling and rubbing it in my face!
Feelings: Apart from the monumental amount of will power it takes to keep going back to the routine and the burny burny pains after the first few work-outs, I do have to say it feels good to finish the workout. Even if I can’t see results, I at least FEEL better for actually moving .
The challenge now is to keep going with it :D. Wish me luck!
